Obituary for Don "Big Shorty" Medlin, Sr.
Graveside service for Mr. Don Medlin, SR. "Big Shorty” will be held at 1:00PM, Friday, June 3, 2022, at the Northeast Louisiana Veteran's Cemetery in Rayville, LA. The family cordially invites you to come to the Moose Lodge in West Monroe, LA directly after the service for fellowship.
Don was born January 19, 1931, and passed from this life May 27, 2022, at the age of 91.
He loved to fly airplanes and was a proud member of the AOPA. He liked country music and was a professional truck driver that spent many hours driving across the U.S. He was a lifetime member of Moose International (Lodge 1723) and a lifetime member of the AMVETS (Post 66). He had many friends and loved all of them dearly.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Judy Medlin and son, Johnny R. Dingler.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son Donny Medlin (Mary); his sweet and loving companion, Wanda; grandchildren, Trey Medlin (Krissten), Jessica Medlin, Josh Medlin (Megan), Micah Rodriguez (Christina), B.J. Howard, Becky Evans (Ritchie), and Eric Dingler (Mary); daughter in law, JonAnn Dingler.
He had eleven great grandchildren that he loved dearly and enjoyed spending time with. He is also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
