I don’t know where to begin because Jimmy and I have so many beautiful memories with Joe and Sherri. We will cherish every memory made with them at that little country church in Calhoun. I can say that Joe was a man of God and he made sure everyone knew it. Our hearts are heavy for Sherri and the family at this time. Praying for you. All our love.

First of all, I would like to say that I will miss my Uncle Joe so very much. The memory I would like to share happened 43 years ago. I was 3 and Uncle Joe was 15. We were in the back yard at my Mammaw and Papaw's house. Uncle Joe wash pushing me on the swings. Well, he pushed a little too hard and I went flying in the air (this is when I developed my fear of hights). Then I landed pretty hard on the ground and a huge (it seemed huge at the time), dog jumped on me. And yes, this is when I developed my fear of big dogs, lol. Anyway, the thing I remember the most is him running to me and swooping me up in his arms. He was making sure that I wasn't hurt. Suddenly, I forgot all about the flying high and the big dog. I just remember feeling completely safe, like nothing could hurt me as long as I had my Uncle Joe around. He continued to make me feel safe whenever he was around for the rest of his life. Thank you Uncle Joe for always making me feel safe. I love and miss you with all my heart.

My deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Mr. Joe for your loss. No doubt he lived a very fulfilling life and you will miss him dearly. I hope you can draw comfort from Gods word, as I have, where He promises us that there is going to be a resurrection and that we can be reunited with our dear loved ones again - right here on the earth.
