Cooper Jude Fontenot
A mass of Christian burial for Mr. Cooper Jude Fontenot of Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00am Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monroe with Father Joe Martina officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park in Monroe under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home Monroe. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 8:00pm Monday, August 12, 2019 with rosary prayer service beginning at 7:00pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Fontenot was born May 25, 1959 in Church Point, LA and passed from this life on August 9, 2019 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 60. He was a devoted member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and loved God, his family and his church very deeply. He loved The Beatles, dinosaurs, Saints football and art, which was his favorite pastime and talent. He was an humble, sweet man who had no enemies and lived life to the fullest, even until his last days. He was a friend to all who met him and he will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jenior “J.J.” and Nelma Fontenot.
Survivors include his wife, Melissa Fontenot of Monroe; his children, Brandon James LaCombe of Ball, Erin Brown and husband, Gary of Oklahoma, and Jesse Fike and wife, Crystal of South Carolina; his siblings, Charlene Ann Fontenot of Scott, LA, Scott Fontenot and wife, Kathy of Atlanta, GA, Johnny Fontenot of New Orleans, and Greg Fontenot and wife, Mary of Carencrow; three grandchildren, Jesse Fike, Jr., Kaleigh Brown and Kaleb Brown; also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ken Watt, Brandon LaCombe, Greg Fontenot, Garnet “Nap” Grimmett, Andy Riviere and Kaleb Brown. Honorary pallbearer will be Gary Brown.
