Obituary for Charles Ray "Buddy" Hemphill, Sr.
Funeral service celebrating the life of Charles Ray "Buddy" Hemphill, Sr. of Bastrop, LA will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, December 31, 2020 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home, 600 Highway 139 (Swartz)
Interment will follow at Redwing Cemetery, Oak Grove, under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends for visitation, 12:00pm until time of service at the funeral home.
Buddy was born November 29, 1941 and passed from this life December 28, 2020 at the age of 79.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Benny and Margaret Hemphill, and three sisters, Gerry, Glenda, and Barbara.
Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Mary Ruth Hemphill; daughters, Ginger Smith, Sissy McKinnie, Lindy Watson and husband Johnny; son, Charles "Little Buddy" Hemphill, Jr. and wife Cathy; also survived by ten grandchildren, twenty eight great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers serving include Timothy Kelley, Chris Martin, Daniel Hemphill, Justin Campbell, Austin Taylor, and Brad Franks.
