Obituary for Charles "Dickey" William Walker

Funeral Service celebrating the life of Charles William "Dickey" Walker of Calhoun, LA Will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, January 4, 2020 at The Assembly West Monroe with Dustin Spillers officiating. Interment will follow at Aulds Chapel in Downsville under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends for visitation Friday, January 3, 2020, from 5pm – 8pm at the church.

Charles was a retired rig engineer with Global Santa Fe, he was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, he enjoyed carpentry, loved to fish, travel and enjoyed mountains, most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Martin Walker, and Mildred Tidwell Walker; sister, Charlotte Ann Haley.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 25 years Cindy Walker; brother, Bobby Joe Walker; mother in law, Ruby Jo Rugg; children, Kenny Walker and wife Donna, Laquita Walker, Joel Walker and wife Melissa, Dustin Spiller and wife Whitney, Josh Walker, Misti McDaniel and husband Patrick, Kirsten Walker; grandchildren, Christopher Walker, Rev. Stephen Walker and wife Candace, Nathan Walker, Eddie Scott, Eric Scott, Nicholas McDaniel, Oliver Spillers, Celia Spillers, Ryan McDaniel, Hunter McDaniel, Rebecca McDaniel, Leighton Burnett, Abram Burnett, Regan Burnett, and one great- granddaughter, Ava Walker; Also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and a host of extended family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Ron Hammett and staff for taking care of Charles.
