Memorial Services for Charles Edward Rogers, Sr. will be held Saturday, May 27, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Griffin Funeral Home, 911 Warren Drive, West Monroe, LA.
Charles Edward Rogers, Sr. was born December 31, 1958 to the late Alex McGraw and Easter Rogers. Charles accepted Christ as his savior at an early age. Charles attended and was a faithful member of The Oaks under Pastor John Skipworth. He found absolute joy in worshiping God and fixing anything broke. Charles graduated from Lake Providence Senior High School in 1976. Throughout his life he became well known and loved by everyone he encountered. Charles was a jack of all trades which allowed him to learn, repair and master any trade he touched. Charles enjoyed his career as a tug boat captain and a mechanic which kept him busy and happy.
Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Easter Rogers; father, Alex McGraw; and son, Willie Rose, Jr.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Carrie B. Rogers; his children from his first union to Elvira Love, Derrick Green, Kimberly Rogers and Charles (Brittany) Rogers, II all of West Monroe, LA. From his second union to Carrie B. Rogers, Joshua (Alisia) Rose, Glinda Rose, Sonya (Darryll) Reynolds, all of Arlington, TX, Jarvin Rose of St. Louis, Mo; sisters, Shirley Vaughn of Phoenix, AZ, Angela Morales of West Monroe, LA; brothers, Joe (Kim) Rogers, Clifford (Sadie) Payne, and Henry (Shelia) Haywood; 18 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
