BORN:
Charles was born July 21, 1940, to Thelma Berger Morton and William James
Morton in Shreveport, Louisiana. He attended Queensboro Elementary, Lakeshore
Jr. High and graduated from Fair Park High School. He was active in ROTC and Boy
Scouts, attending many of the activities including the 1957 Boy Scouts Jamboree in
Valley Forge. He always had time to share his many exciting adventures from his
youth. He did not immediately go to college as his father was sick with Tuberculosis,
in the VA Hospital in Shreveport, and his mother was suffering with cancer. Charles
chose to stay home and care for their needs until his mother died in the Fall of
1959. Ultimately, he graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1965, but not
before his father died in April of 1963. He met his Bride to Be in January of 1964
and they married on September 05, 1964. They have 4 wonderful, loving children.

FAIR PARK HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION FPHS Class 1958
Keeping up with Friends from Fair Park High School and his La Tech Class of 1965
Charles had a passion for music and dancing with Vicky, meeting new people and
attending music and theatrical performances of his children and grandchildren. He
had a talent for brightening any room by whistling or singing one of his favorite
tunes. He loved people and people loved him! He always enjoyed just being with
family and would travel any distance for a chance to spend a few minutes with a
family member. Another of his joys was involving his family in his projects - of
which there were many! Some of his projects were donating trees and planting
trees and roses. Until his health became an issue, Charles enjoyed deer hunting,
fishing and traveling. When he travelled, he enjoyed visiting all sorts of museums.

He watched older movies, particularly Westerns, in his free time. He cared about his
Rental Properties tremendously, working tirelessly to keep them in good repair.
After his health dictated that he slow down, he spent much time reading. He had a
keen grasp of Historical Events.
