Obituary for Carole Jeanne Smith
A celebration of life for Ms. Carole Jeanne Smith of West Monroe, LA will be 3:00PM Saturday, June 12, 2021 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe with Pastor Lance Otwell officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00PM until time of service at the funeral home.
Ms. Smith was born December 15, 1936 in Mt. Shasta, CA and passed from this life on May 15, 2021 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 84. She was a talented beautician and owned her own shop in the Monroe area. She took pride in making her clients feel beautiful, inside and out, throughout her career of 40 years. She also enjoyed church activities and gardening. Most of all, she loved her children and grandchildren with all of her heart. Carole was a tiny, beautiful lady with a huge heart, a beautiful smile, and a lot of spunk. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Letty Dery; and one sister, Marianne Poppin.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Marc Thomas and wife, Kathy of Jackson Parish, Allan Thomas, Jerri Caston and husband, Josh, all of West Monroe, Sherry Henson and husband, Butch of Winnfield; her brother, Louis Dery of Portland, OR; her husband, J.W. Smith of West Monroe; five grandchildren, Marcus Thomas, Chaz Austin, Chelsea Parker, Cole Thomas and Evan Thomas; three great-grandchildren, Harper Austin, Wells Parker and Eliza Thomas; also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
