A celebration of life for Mr. Carl Stevenson, Jr. of Monroe, LA will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 2:00pm at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church 1901 Lexington Avenue Monroe, LA.

Family will receive friends from 1pm until time of service at the church.

Carl, known to family and friends as Mike, was born February 24, 1944 and passed from this life on March 5, 2019 at the age of 75.
Carl was preceded in death by parents Carl Sr. and Floy Stevenson, and by his stepson Ryan Coleman.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 24 years Jeanette Stevenson of Monroe, LA; son, Michael Stevenson of Amsterdam, the Netherlands; two daughters, Audrey Stevenson and husband Scott Weidner of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Claire Stevenson and husband David Reijerse of Amsterdam, the Netherlands; one stepdaughter, Kamie Schnuelle and husband Duane of Gardner, Kansas; two sisters, Janet Mathews and husband James of Houston, TX and Anne Cookston and husband William “Cookie” of Monroe, LA; he is also survived by seven grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.

Carl was a loyal and dedicated son, husband, father, brother and uncle. He loved spending time with his family and was always there to support them. He loved his wife Jeanette and beamed with pride when talking about his children. He was easy-going and charming, and placed a great deal of value on the many friendships he made over the years. He took great pride in his work as a C.P.A. and later as a teacher. He enjoyed music, travel and learning about the world around him. Most of all he loved passing time with the people he cared for.

The family has been touched by the warmth and support provided to Carl and his loved ones by St. Paul’s church and so many in the Monroe and West Monroe community. The family also wishes to thank Landmark Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.

We give our condolences to Jeanette and the family for the passing of Carl. We have met Carl in Amsterdam at Claire and David's several times. He was a nice man and we felt sorry for him about his disease. We understand that he was a sportive man with a lot of friends. May he rest in peace, with love from the parents of David Reijerse

To family and friends. I am so very sorry for the passing of Carl Stevenson, it is always hard to lose someone special. It may be comforting to know that our God Jehovah is also saddened by death and even Jesus gave way to tears at John 11:33,35. Another comforting thought is to know the future of such ones. Isaiah 26:19 tells us about the promise our God has made to us to resurrect our loved ones from death. I hope this has brought you even the slightest comfort, please know that Jehovah the God of all comfort will always be there comforting you through trials (2 Corinthians 1:3,4).
