Funeral services for Ms. Careen Johnston will be held at 2:00PM, Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Griffin Funeral Home located at 911 Warren Drive West Monroe, LA, with Bro. Ricky Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Hall-Rhymes Cemetery on Hwy 15 in Monroe, LA. Family will accept friends for visitation from 12:00PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Careen Johnston was a medical assistant who was born on November 3, 1939, in Mangham, LA, and passed peacefully from her home in Downsville on July 27, 2022.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred Edward Garner and Ola Garner; great-grandsons, Dylan Bass and Sam Bass; great-great grandson, Rowinn Busby.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Steve Bass and wife Bonnie, Mark Bass, Debra Swaggart and husband Joey, Sandra Rice and husband Hal; brothers, Gary Garner and wife Pat, Bobby Garner and wife Judy; sisters, Cathy Pringle and husband Herb, and Dixie Bass.
Also left to cherish her memory includes numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Skylar McCarta, Calab Poole, Chance Poole, Scott Bass, Nicholas Cicolone, and Logan Bass.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Swaggart and Adam Wayland.
Although she is no longer with us; She will forever be in our hearts.
