Bobby Ray Williamson, 68, of Grayson, Louisiana, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Oschner LSU Health-Monroe Medical Center, with his loving partner by his side.
Bobby was born February 11, 1954 in Houston, Texas, to Sybil Corrine and James David “JD” Williamson. He grew up on Acacia Street in Pasadena, Texas, with many childhood friends that he stayed in touch with over the years. Bobby graduated from Pasadena High School, class of 1973. He was involved in sports, choir and the Rotary International at PHS.
His first job was working at his Dad’s gas station in Pasadena, Texas. Afterwards, he worked for the Shell Oil Company Inc. in the Deer Park laboratory; then he worked for Fry Construction Co. located in Dallas and other construction companies in Louisiana. He was currently working for Construction Management Group LLC out of Sweeny, Texas, as a Property Superintendent at a California location.
As a member of the Chester Hunting Club in Louisiana, Bobby pursued his life-long passion for hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. Following close behind, his family was the other top priority in his life, along with making friends everywhere he went. For many years, he entertained family and friends with his annual musical bonfire and his karaoke “talent”. His many other interests included collecting signs and antiques, gardening, and rock ‘n roll and country music. Bobby also enjoyed reading a wide range of books on various subjects to enhance his trivia knowledge and his campfire debating skills.
Bobby was preceded in death by his mother, Sybil Corrine Hatten Williamson; father James David “JD” Williamson, sister, Margaret Louise Williamson and his brother, James Ronald “Butch” Williamson.
Bobby is survived by his loving girlfriend, Charlotte Jenkins Flex of Pasadena, Texas.
Also survived by his brother, Charles Virgil “Chico” Williamson of La Porte, Texas, his brother and wife, David “Duke” and Lori Williamson of Rockwall, Texas, and his sister and husband, Deborah Jean and Charlie Stephens of Livingston, Texas. Nephews and nieces are Butch Compton, Waco Compton, Heath Williamson, Dane Williamson, Pamela Compton-McGarrahan, Haley Konarick, Meagan Schmitz and Kelcee Williamson.
A memorial service will be at Bobby’s residence in Louisiana on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. There will be a second memorial in the Pasadena, Texas, on Saturday, February 11, 2023. More details to come on this second celebration of his life.
