Obituary for Billy Ray Coker Sr.
Funeral service for Mr. Billy Ray Coker, Sr. of Calhoun, LA will be held Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 3:00pm in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home 911 Warren Drive West Monroe with Rev. Marty Black and Rev. Neil Wigley officiating.
Interment will follow at New Chapel Hill Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 12 from 5pm-7pm and Saturday, April 13 at 2pm at the funeral home
Bill was born October 30, 1931 and passed from this life April 10, 2019 at the age of 87.
He was a retired mail carrier and postmaster in Calhoun, LA, a longtime member of New Chapel Hill Baptist Church, and a 50 year member of Urim Lodge #111, in Calhoun.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Ernestine Coker; Parents, William and Anna Coker; brother, Richard Coker; brother in law, Roy Green.
Those left to cherish his memory include, daughter, Wanda Davis and husband, Steve; two sons, Ray Coker and wife, Kay, Wade Coker and wife, DeeAnn; six grandchildren, Heath Davis and wife, Amy, Chad Coker and wife, Amanda, Tony Coker, Drew Coker and wife, Elizabeth, Michelle Coker, Nathan Coker and wife, Taylor; three great-grandchildren, Liam, Logan and Katie; brother, Gerald Don Coker and wife, Marilyn; sister, Ima Nae Green; sister in law, Annette Coker; brother in law, Ronald Hickingbottom and wife, Penny, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends.
