Obituary for Betty Mae Ballard Smith

Celebration of life for Betty Mae Ballard Smith of West Monroe, LA., will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Whites Ferry Road Church with Bro. Richard Bass, Bro. Derek McQueen, and Bro. Bryan Rucker officiating. Family will receive friends for visitation 12:00pm until time of service at the church.

Betty was born July 15, 1975, and passed from this life December 13, 2022, at the age of 47.
She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend; Her family was her world, and she considered her dear friends’ family as well. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had a charitable heart and loved helping those less fortunate than herself; She was obsessed with buying shoes and had a closet full of them, she was a free spirit who loved living life to the fullest; The addiction recovery community in North LA. lost a beacon of light when Mrs. Betty Mae passed away.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Rona Holmes and Levi Ballard, Sr.; grandmother, Betty Hyde; and brother, Levi Ballard, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Davie K. Smith; children, Joshua Michael Delaughter, Tony Ballard, Elizabeth Ballard, Serena Jackson (Jake) and Jada George; brothers, Joshua Ballard and Richard Bass; sisters, Cheri Joles and Tina Bass; nieces, Lexi Joles, and Kaitlyn Dawn Ballard; nephews, Ryver and Zander Joles; cousins, Derek and Kayla McQueen; brother-in-law, Jo Smith and mother-in-law, Tina Joles; three grandchildren, Aubrey Rose Delaughter, Leeland Michael Ballard, and Gia O’netta Jackson. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
