Obituary for Belma Lee Street

Funeral services for Belma Lee Knight Street, 91, of West Monroe, La, will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2020, at Griffin Funeral Home, 911 Warren Drive, West Monroe, La, with visitation on Thursday, January 9, 2020, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Street was born on January 15, 1928, in Monroe, La and passed away on January 4, 2020 in Monroe. She married her husband, Warren D. Street, on November 28, 1948. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren D. Street and by her parents, Dewey and Melba Knight, and by her brother, Curtis Elton Knight.

She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Elaine Browning and Anna Ruth Salsbury; by her children, Curtis Daniel Street, Larry Dale Street, and Dewey Russell Street (and wife, Kristy), and grandchildren, Sandra Kay Street Wilson and husband Colin; Madison Michelle Street and Jessica Hancock; Daniel Randolph Street and wife Shannan, Daniel Hunter Street, Daniel Wayne Street and Cody Lee Street, great grandsons Hixson Wayne Street, Samuel Day Wilson and Cason Hancock; great granddaughter, Kyndal Hancock; and a host of family and friends.

Belma Lee Knight Street was a faithful servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was faithful to and active in her church. She worked for a time as a secretary of Calvary Baptist Church to earn money to help her son through law school. Her greatest joys were her church work, taking care of her family, and shopping. She loved to cook Sunday dinner and holiday meals for the entire family and welcomed friends to come as well. She will be sorely missed.

Burial will be at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetary near Rayville, Louisiana.
