A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Barbara Ann LaCour of Monroe, LA will be 11:00am Saturday, March 23, 2019 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home 600 Hwy 139 Monroe. A memorial gathering will take place directly after the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. LaCour was born October 8, 1939 in New Orleans, LA and passed from this life on March 20, 2019 in Monroe, LA at the age of 79. Barbara lived an amazing life especially when she married the love of her life, Gardner LaCour, who loved her with all his heart, provided for her and took good care of her for about 54 years. They shared a life of love and lived an epic romance story together. Mrs. LaCour was a lady who loved to live life to the fullest. She enjoyed taking vacations, especially New Orleans, which she loved. She loved her dog, taking care of her home and her yard, exercising and spending time with her family whom she adored. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and a friend to all who met her. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gardner LaCour; her father, Curry Wilson; her mother, Lolita Firmin Wilson Gauthier; her step-father, Jesse Gauthier; and two sisters, Pam Channey and Merline Thurnquist.
Survivors include her children, Melissa Fontenot and husband, Cooper of Monroe, and Kim Reviere and husband, Andy of Carencro; her sisters, Shirley Fields of Boyce, Judy Ducote of Belledeau, and Connie Herrin and husband, Doug of Baker; five grandchildren, Brandon LaComb of Ball, Erin Brown and husband, Gary of Oklahoma, Jesse Fike and wife, Crystal of South Carolina, Claire Reviere and Jacob Reviere, both of Carencro; four great-grandchildren, Rory Ann Woodley, Jesse Fike, Jr., Kaleigh Brown and Kaleb Brown; her “fur baby”, Jolie; also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
