Ashley Lauren Dorsey, born on November 11, 2003, dreamed of becoming a pediatric surgeon. She was brilliant, energetic, tough, witty, and sweet. She was a daughter, a sister, a niece, a cousin, a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter, and a devoted friend. She was a ballerina, a cellist, a cross country runner, and a skater. She also had the greatest nickname ever: Boomshakalaka!

Ashley was suddenly taken from us on October 23, 2019. In accordance with her wishes, she became an organ donor. May we always honor her selfless sacrifice by emulating her legacy of service in our communities.

Ashley has joined her Mammaw Faye Morgan, as well as her grandfather Charlie Holley, in glory.

Please keep Ashley, her parents Amanda and Mike, stepdad Jake, her siblings Jeremy, Connor, Oliver, and her baby sister Charlie on the way, grandparents Anita and Bob, her Pappaw Dale, her grandmother Pat, her grandfather Pat, and her legion of aunts, uncles, and cousins in your thoughts and prayers. Please comfort her numerous friends who mourn the profound loss of a uniquely gifted friend.

Ashley's family is immensely appreciative of her neighbors that came to her aid, to the Fire Department first responders, the St. Francis ER staff, the air ambulance flight crew, the staff of the LSU Medical Center Shreveport Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and the LOPA staff that honored and facilitated Ashley's final goal. We know Ashley received highly skilled and compassionate care every step of the way.

Ashley's family is deeply touched by the outpouring of spiritual, material, and moral support from this entire community. Your kindness has infinitely eased this immense burden of sadness. They are eternally grateful to every single one of you.

Pallbearers will be Dylan Robinson, Taylor Bounds, Earl Craft, Gary Horton, James Spivey, and Tanner Konkle.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Robinson and Lee Coston
