Annie Lee Pace Sims was a resident of Calhoun, Louisiana, her home for almost 70 years. Mrs. Sims is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Charles Lindburg Sims, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Pace, two grandchildren, Christopher Michael Price and Easy Tee Tedeton, and two great-grandchildren, John Isaac Littleton and Carter Sims.
She was the loving mother of four children, Barbara Sims of Johnson City, TN (Norman Fleenor, life partner), Terry Lynn Sims of Downsville, LA (Kathy Sims, wife), Charles Michael Sims of Minden, LA (Jennie Sims, wife), and Pamela Sue Tedeton of Calhoun, LA (Kirk Tedeton, husband).
She leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Sims will be remembered by her family members as someone who always greeted them with a smile and open arms. The same is true of her church family with whom she worshipped through the years as a life-long member of Souls Harbor United Pentecostal Church, Hwy. 80, Calhoun, LA. In the early years of the founding of Souls Harbor, Mrs. Sims participated in the music ministry, singing songs of praise to her Lord and Savior. Along with her sisters in Christ, she faithfully participated in auxiliary efforts associated with the Souls Harbor ministry.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the caretakers who tirelessly and compassionately provided comfort to our mother and grandmother over the course of several years and especially in the final days of her life. We thank Betty Allen, Roberta Delrio, and Kim Garrison. We thank also the professional and loving hospice care provided by Elara Caring.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, December 15th from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Souls Harbor United Pentecostal Church, 113 Slocum Rd., Calhoun, LA, under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home (https://www.griffinfuneralhome.net/). Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. and the internment will immediately follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Hwy. 80, Calhoun.
