Funeral service for Addie Laverne Barnett of West Monroe, LA will be 10:30am Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Griffin Funeral Home, 911 Warren Drive, West Monroe with Rev. Jerry Burns and Sis. Betty Burns. Interment will follow at Rhymes Hall Cemetery near Monroe, LA under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9:00am until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.

Laverne was born April 10, 1932 in Monroe, LA and passed peacefully in her sleep on May 25, 2019 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 87. She loved cooking for her family, sewing, and most of all, reading God’s word.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Barnett; her parents, Jesse and Lillian Murphy; four children, Jimmy Beard, Leon Beard, Patsy Burns, and Clifton Ray Jarvis.

Those left to cherish her wonderful memories include her daughters, Carolyn Diane Fatheree, Jo Ann Bellmore, Jewel Jones and Fay Ellis; her sons, David Jarvis, and Will Jarvis; also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Mack Bellmore, Charles Bishop, Brandon Bellmore, Joseph Driskall, Steve Ellis and Robbie Jarvis. Honorary pallbearer will be William “Todd” Fatheree.
