John “Kenny” Massey
Funeral services for Mr. John “Kenny” Massey of Monroe, LA will be 11:00am Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Calhoun, LA with Rev. Neil Everett officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 8:00pm Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe.
Mr. Massey was born October 20, 1953 in Monroe, LA and passed from this life on September 22, 2018 in Monroe, LA at the age of 64. He was an umpire at Calhoun ballpark and a coach. He enjoyed playing pool and bowling, where he participated in multiple tournaments and leagues over the years. He was also known for achieving a perfect “300” score in bowling two times in his lifetime. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and was a friend to all who met him. He will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dub and Billie Massey.
Survivors include his wife, Penny Massey of Monroe; his children, Dane Massey and wife, April of West Monroe, Amber Massey Brehm and husband, Brian of Broken Arrow, OK, Courtney Massey of West Monroe, Jennifer Hinton and fiancé James Scalia of West Monroe, and Chris Hinton and wife, Laura of West Monroe; one brother, Larry Massey and wife, Rita of Calhoun; ten grandchildren, Keenan, Payson, Chloe, Tanner, Daxton, Brenna, Jaxson, Brock, Thatcher and Bryson; also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Mike Lindsey, Jamie Traweek, Jason Traweek, James Scalia, Brad Warren and Ryan Traweek.
