Jesse Thomas Burchfield
On August 4, 2018, surrounded by his loving family, Jesse Thomas Burchfield, age 75, went home to be with his Lord. Jesse was born in Drew, MS on April 22, 1943. He is the son of the late Dewitt O. Burchfield and Sarah R. Burchfield. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Dewitt O. Burchfield, Jr. and his sister, Sarah Burchfield. Jesse retired from industrial sales. He was known to his grandchildren as “Grandpa Jesse”.
Jesse is survived by his son, Jeffrey Thomas Burchfield; granddaughter, Lydia Elise Burchfield; grandson, Jackson Thomas Burchfield; the mother of his son, Florence Burchfield; the mother of his grandchildren, Robin Love; step-children, Natalie Ward, Leo Daniel Tarpley, Jr. and Sandra McCormic; brother, Robert Burchfield and wife, Gloria; nephew, Tim Burchfield; nieces, Sara Jean Burchfield Riddels, Deborah Burchfield, Gail Burchfield Kisner and many other family members and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Griffin Funeral Home 911 Warren Dr. West Monroe with Dr. Mike Holloway officiating. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until 2:00pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Tim Burchfield, Michael Clark, Joe Terry, Paul Gullette, Tim Kerrigan and Adam Shell. Honorary pallbearers will be Lydia Burchfield, Jackson Burchfield, and Robert Burchfield.
